See, I was introduced to the world of nootropics by one of my friends who was in medical school. Lucky for me, he answered all of my questions about which drug I should take, what are the pros of Modafinil, etc.

But, not everyone has a friend in med school…

So, today I’ve decided to write a blog post for those who want to know the difference between four of the most popular pills:

• Modvigil
• Modalert
• Waklert
• Artvigil

What is Modafinil?

Modafinil was introduced to the world over 17 years ago. It was developed in France for the treatment of disorders such as shift sleep disorder, narcolepsy, and sleep apnea.

So, in a way, Modafinil helps decrease fatigue and enhances one’s cognitive abilities such as mood, motivation, reaction time, etc.

Named the world’s safest smart drug by The Guardian, Modafinil soon gained popularity among students, CEOs, and hard workers and began being used as a smart drug around the world.

And so, scientists sought to develop something that was stronger and more effective.

And, thus, Armodafinil was born in the early 2000s.

Modafinil and Armodafinil are cousins.

Armodafinil has gained popularity due to two main reasons:

The former is sold under the brand name ‘Nuvigil’ while the latter is sold as ‘Provigil’. However, these can be quite expensive.

The four drugs that I’ll talk about are actually the most popular generic versions of Modafinil and Armodafinil.

But, which one is which?

For all the beginners out there, I’d like you to know that:

• Modalert and Movigil are Modafinil based (Source)
• Artivigil and Waklert  are Armodafinil based

Did you notice any similarities in the names?

That’s because Modalert and Waklert are manufactured by SUN Pharma while Artivigil and Movigil are manufactured by HAB Pharma.

Located in India, these companies are well-known by the pharmaceutical community for producing high-quality generic drugs.

Obviously, our unique physiologies react differently to different drugs—even when they have been created by the same company! So, keep that in mind before switching brands.

What is Modvigil?

Produced by a reputable Indian manufacturer HAB Pharma, Modvigil is a generic version of Modafinil known throughout the world for being cheap and effective.

Modvigil is similar in effect to Modalert 200mg but costs half as much. The pricing for Modvigil 200 mg is as low as $0.80 per pill! A great bargain, right?

People seem to feel that Modvigil isn’t as strong or as pure as Modalert but, that totally depends on how your body will react to the particular drug. Some find it to be too strong as well!

So, try before you hear anything!

I have two reasons why you should try Modvigil:

• The drug is probably the cheapest form of Modafinil available in the market
• It has a shorter half-life

This means that not only is Modvigil easy on your wallet, it will also not affect your sleep! The effects of Modalert last for between 12-14 hours while those of Modvigil only last for 8-10 hours!

What is Modalert?

Even if you don’t take Modafinil, chances are you have still heard about Modalert. The drug is the highest quality and best selling generic Modafinil product produced in India by SUN Pharmaceuticals.

Modalert is cheap, but not the cheapest of the lot. The price of a 200mg pill is $0.98.

I personally have always preferred Modalert!

Many people feel that Modalert is one of the strongest nootropics. This drug has a long half-life that lasts between 12-14 hours if you consume a 200mg pill. Modalert can also cause a few minor side effects such as sleeplessness and an upset stomach.

Why pick Modalert? Well, I have a few reasons:

• It’s a potent smart drug
• The effects last for a long time

Please do note that each and every individual has a unique body—so your body’ reaction to Modalert may not be same to your friend’s!

What is Waklert?

Manufactured by SUN Pharma, Waklert is one of the best selling Armodafinil available in the market and is known to be stronger and more potent than Modafinil.

Waklert is not the cheapest as it is priced at $1 per 150 mg pill, but is still reasonable.

Users feel that Waklert, although more potent, does not have long lasting effects than Modafinil. A standard dose of 150 mg Waklert will be effective for 2-7 hours which is ideal if you want a good night’s sleep.

You should invest in Waklert if:

• You want to try something stronger than Modafinil
• You want a good night’s sleep

Keep in mind that since Waklert is stronger, the standard dose of this drug is 150 mg.

But, keep in mind that if you’re new to nootropics, start by taking Modafinil and work your way up to stronger drugs.

What is Artvigil?

Artvigil is produced by HAB Pharma in India and is a form of Armodafinil. Even though Artvigil is not as popular as Waklert, I still like it.

Artvigil is not the cheapest as it is priced at $0.99 per 150 mg pill, cheaper than Waklert.

I feel that Artvigil is more like Modafinil when it comes to effects. The half life for Artvigil last between 8-10 hours, which is more like that of Modvigil—its sister drug.

All in all, I feel that Artvigil is not a waste of money and is a good cheap and generic Armodafinil that is available in the market. I feel that this drug does the job it’s supposed to—and then some.

Modvigil, Modalert, Waklert, and Artvigil are four of the most popular generic nootropics available in the market.

While Modvigil and Modalert are Modafinil based, Waklert and Artvigil are Armodafinil based.

I personally prefer Modalert 200 because I like the long half-life.

All in all, everyone has different preferences and a unique physiology so, what may suit may will not necessarily suit your needs and body. So, I encourage you to try the pills before you make a decision on which one if your favorite.
